Swift Justice

Football and its rabid fan base for as much of the persona of toughness and strength that they exude into the atmosphere are in actuality incredibly delicate, especially when it comes to change. Since Football became the new national pastime, overtaking baseball sometime in the early 2000’s football like baseball has also absorbed being a raging bonfire for hanging onto traditional America. NFL football specifically for the last twenty years has been dominated by one Dynasty team and its shining star Caucasian Quarterback winning over and over and over again repeatedly. Hoisting up their first Vince Lombardi trophy right on the heels of 9/11 and everything was golden U.S.A. Christ, they we were even called the Patriots and even when they weren’t winning the Super Bowl New England’s football club seemed to be the governor of the league. Also ruling the sports news cycle as some of the cracks began to show in accusations of cheating and other scandals that started to surface throughout their tenure that had no term limit. They were always on America’s mind and tv sets whether the news was good or bad. From undefeated seasons to sex scandals, to a player who actually turned out to be a murderer and killed himself. The Patriots were one stop sports news cycle shopping from scoreboards to tabloids. The darlings of the disco finally got pushed off the dance floor when their egomaniacal coach and narcissistic Quarterback could no longer get along. The QB went to Tampa and won another ring and the Patriots sunk to the bottom without their captain. Then another team with a sensation behind the center took over the reins and have since Brady’s exit been fixtures in the super bowl and the talk of Football. The talk got bigger when the team’s pro bowl tight end began dating the biggest pop star in the world. While being a huge star Taylor Swift doesn’t worship at the feet of Conservatism and its leader Donald Trump like most of the NFL obsessed do. The NFL fan base is desperate to hang onto old white America and if they can’t they want to pretend they are through the pastime of Football. A black player kneeling during the National Anthem and a woman who doesn’t worship a bankrupt rapist with them and changing the racist name of a team are all major threats to their fake little bubble world that’s pure and innocent. For conservatism and the traditional ways change is often blamed for any societal problems. “The way things were” is a idiom sure to follow “Did you see that horrible thing on the news last night” “It didn’t used to be like this” Liberalism and more specifically the democratic political party are blamed for change because Republicans are about the way things used to be and keeping them that way. So, any blame for change must fall at the feet of the woken other side. The Patriots were friends with Donald Trump. Their owner Robert Kraft spoke glowingly about him they had no problem visiting him at the white house and their QB had a MAGA hat inside his locker. New England the team famous for little white wide receivers darting all over the place making spectacular grabs has been replaced. Now the talk of Football is a black QB with big curly hair and a woke Tight End and his Cancelled Superstar lightning rod for attention none of whom seem interested in propping up Donald Trump. Sportswriters and analysist who used to openly root for New England and celebrate them are now rooting against Kansas City who have made the mistake of not knowing that when conservatives see change every little thing will make them want to run back home. NFL fans have targeted and zeroed in on Taylor Swift to use a lightning rod for their grievances of lost traditional conservative values, and they want her, and Kansas City cancelled. Over the years during accusations of rape, sexual harassment, domestic violence, outrageous demands, and diva QB behavior are awfully quiet. Even cheating seems to be just fine and a small problem at best but when it comes to a changing society, and a woman enjoying the same game they do, they demand swift justice.
